Nonno smiled across the sunroom table, red wine in hand. The sun was shining, it felt like a summers day.

This past Thanksgiving was a special one. When I think back, I smile at so many moments. Nonna trying to pronounce "vegan", intense games of paddle board in the pool, life chats, and 7 out of 8 cousins fast alseep on the living room floor, midway through our Thanksgiving movie.

These were moments of connection and presence. I realised, food was just an addition to an already special day.

One more thing made this Thanksgiving different from the rest. My family opted out of Turkey, and all other animals, letting my sister and I cook up a fully vegan feast. Best fam ever.

So, with the sisters in charge, we carefully curated a menu to show our family how compassionate food is just as delicious as the rest. We turned it into a mini cookbook, which you can download above.

Did we get in a little over our heads... maybe. Was it worth every sweaty sister tiff in the kitchen. Absolutely.

This Thanksgiving remember what's truly important. Special moments with people we love. Causing the least possible harm in our world. And not watching "Silence" because everyone will fall asleep.
